ØØ9 Happy Holidays
🎄 Happy Holidays!
I hope y’all are having a great holiday season and are getting some much-needed family time in and rest.
Game 4 Updates
I’ve been working on getting a few assets into the introductory level. The goal is to do a bit of world-building and release an atmosphere demo that people can walk around in and explore for a few minutes and end it when they’re done.
I’ll most likely get this out in January then switch my focus to working on the next level. There is going to be more interactivity on this next level and it will require more detailed assets so It will go much slower. However, I hope to release it in chunks and allow portions of it to be playable as I’m continuing to develop it. Overall my goal is to have a game that takes about 30 minutes to complete end to end with the main objective and a few other things for the player to do.
I’ve been inspired by the latest Metroid game so I’ve been thinking a lot about exploration and traversal. I’m not going to attempt anything too crazy but I do have some ideas for some environment/movement puzzles for the player to complete as they’re exploring the environment.
Currently, I’m thinking the next level will be more of a dungeon-like experience, all inside so I can easily control the space and how the player gets around. I’ve been looking at a ton of brutalist architecture for inspiration for the inside of the ship. I want the environment to be simple and dramatic. This Mosque is really exciting and I really enjoy how clean it is.
I also really like stuff like this. So I’ll be spending some time, I hope after January to really think through how this would work in an environment.
I’ve also got to start thinking about the branding for this game, not sure what I’m totally going to do yet but I do have some ideas.
Progress might be slow since the Halo Infinite campaign just launched, so you know…important distractions 😆
Inspo Central
As always here are some cool things I’ve found over the last month or so.
Once again, have a great holiday season and I’ll catch up with you in the new year!
