Happy April!

We’re getting closer and closer to summer. At least around here, summer is really nice, spending time out hiking or at the beach is some of our favorite things to do. It’s just not quite warm enough for that yet.

Over the course of the last month, my family and I were able to go on our family vacation and I was able to attend Headway’s team week. Both were super exciting adventures.

Our family trip was to The Smoky Mountains, we stayed in a cabin in the town of Gatlinburg, TN. We were able to explore the national park, go to Dolly Parton’s theme park, and explore the town of Gatlinburg. Our family had a great time and will probably get back there some time since we had such a good time.

The other adventure I was able to go on was to Joshua Tree, CA. Our company puts on a few Team Weeks each year as an opportunity for us to spend some face-to-face time together, build relationships, and just unwind from our day-to-day work. This year we headed out to the desert and stay at a private campground called Autocamp. I had never been out to a desert before like that and I really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to go back with the family.

Design Stuff

I also started to mentor students through the Dribbble product design course and I’m finding it super rewarding to be able to help students in their product design careers. The course is fantastic and all of the mentors are super talented. I feel extremely lucky to be amongst so many talented folks.

We also just launched a free video series called Ready to Scale. Take a look and let me know what you think!

My favorite icons are the simple shapes of playback: triangle-play, rectangle-pause, square-stop, and circle-record. Clean. Probably one of the most comprehensible sets of all time, despite being completely abstract. If I ever get a tattoo, these will be involved.

Well, I hope everyone has a great rest of their April and is excited about those May flowers!
