ØØ6 Continued Progress
Hope y’all are doing well! Things are really busy for me right now, we’re in the middle of a possible move and family vacation so I haven’t had a ton of time to really focus on anything other than work. I’ll have some really cool stuff to share in the next few issues for some work projects that are launching soon and my personal game projects. I hope you’re having a great start to fall.
Project Castlestein
Overall progress on the game is going really well. I’ve got my basic character movement down, some footstep sounds and pickup sounds, basic health system and I’m working on the weapons system right now. I’m taking things kind of slower and trying to really focus on making sure things feel right. I’m looking to capture that early Quake feel. Once I get my first weapon done I’m going to put together a small demo for some friends, while I focus on working on AI. I’m not sure if I’m going to tackle all of the weapons first then focus on AI or do them in Tandem.

Design Leadership
At Headway we try to give back to the design community as much as possible. I just gave a talk on some stuff we’ve learned over the years about being leaders in the design space.
Inspiration Central
I’m a big fan of the original Matrix movies, so you could say I’m excited for the next one. The interactive site they released is a pretty cool experience.
I didn’t catch this until way late, but this game looks really awesome. The colors, the music, the overall style looks amazing.
I just love how retro this looks, and the character design is pretty amazing too.
Another amazing artist that I was able to stumble upon on Twitter. I really enjoy the overall style.
Also a new Matrix?! Consider me excited!
